Welcome Home with locations in Chestertown, Annapolis, and Easton is immediately hiring Two Retail Key Holders for our Annapolis, MD location at 64 State Circle.

Welcome Home is a boutique specialty retail store, specializing in goods for the kitchen and table. We are a beautiful, yet functional, home goods store. We specialize in heritage and craft brands. We stock linen for kitchen, bath, and table, culinary tools, and decor for the table & home.

Reporting to the Store Manager, we are hiring two key-holders.

  1. The first key-holder with a schedule of Thursday - Saturday, 11-5:00.
  2. The second with a schedule of Sunday - Tuesday, 11-4.

All managers & key holders are scheduled to support holidays such as Thanksgiving Eve, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Christmas Eve.

Please note: Parking is challenging in Downtown Annapolis. On Saturday and Sunday, free parking is available in the Calvert Garage. All applicants are expected to have reliable transportation and a personal game plan for parking. Parking is not reimbursed by the business.

About The Job

  • Support the store manager in the execution of all store operations, merchandising, and workforce planning
  • Create social media stories and reels
  • Manager on Shift for Staff & Customers
  • Consult with, and assist clients in the selection of tableware, table linen, and cooking tools, based on their interests, personal styles, and needs; Support a culture of fabulous customer service
  • Receive & manage inventory; lead special projects focused on merchandising and events
  • Support training & onboarding of staff; support location hiring & scheduling
  • Assist with data cleanup and Shopify (our POS) updates
  • Picking, packing, & shipping online orders
  • Dust and fold. Restock, count, and organize. We do this a lot.

The ideal candidate has retail experience working with home goods, textiles, interior design, or art. Many of our products are craft or speciality. We are looking for a polished professional who is comfortable consulting with our customers on their ideal entertaining style.

All candidates must have….

  • Retail experience and a history of cross-category selling
  • A passion for design; a strong sense of color and design
  • Outgoing yet consultative personality
  • Comfort rolling up their sleeves
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent administrative abilities, including Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of local market and customer preferences
  • Basic math skills and cash handling experience
  • Basic social media experience with common platforms such as Facebook & Instagram

Physical & Mental Health Requirements

  • Lift at least 30 lbs and walk up and down a flight of steps at least 4-6 times a day.
  • Comfort assessing and understanding facial, physical, and social cues
  • Comfortable working solo
  • Comfortable multi-tasking
  • Abile to manage personal stress and anxiety in complex and sometimes crowded social space
